Laboratory Services
Community Hospital is home to a fully equipped and expertly staffed diagnostic laboratory. Both our laboratory and on-site blood bank are accredited by the College of American Pathologists (CAP) and participate in the CAP Proficiency Surveys, the Bio-Rad Quality Assurance Program (QAP), Instrumentation Laboratory QAP, and Abbott Hematology QAP. These accreditations ensure the quality of any result reported to the physicians of Community Hospital.
The laboratory is staffed by registered Medical Technologists (MT) or Medical Laboratory Technicians (MLT) certified by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP). Operating 24 hours a day and 7 days a week, the Laboratory provides testing in chemistry, hematology, coagulation, serology and urinalysis.
